Achieving Dreams receives funds based on concession stand sales at major sporting events. Additional funds are raised through flower sales and other special events.
The amount raised varies from game to game and venue to venue. For 2021, Twins events are a guarantee of $125 per game and $150 for non-holiday weekday day games, Gophers football from $65 to $80, Lynx/Timberwolves are $50-$60. Vikings from $125 to $150.
You must be 16 or older to volunteer at TCF stadium, Target Field and US Banks. If you are 18 or older you may also volunteer at Target Center.
Individuals volunteer in concessions at the Twins, Vikings, Gopher, Timberwolves, Lynx and MN United as well as participating in flower sales and other fundraising events.
An Achieving Dreams’ volunteer raises $50-$150 per event to add to the grant fund pool.
Grants are awarded to support children and adults with activities such as:
Music and voice lessons
Enrichment activities (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, school clubs)
Education, tuition, and books (kindergarten through college).
Church activities, Mission Trips, church camps, youth groups
Typically you can request a grant 60-90 days after you have volunteered at an event.
